[Petitfee] Azulene Ultra Soothing Pads

11 may 2018

Sirven? Eso lo veremos ahora.

Hello again! I regret the delay in writing early this week, but really the Blog situation discouraged me a lot. Nothing to worry about, but the template that at first started being clean, flawless, began little by little to present several problems that even its creator couldn't solve and gave me errors even to make entries...

But yesterday I finally changed the template, now the whole experience is very fast, without errors, with a beautiful design, so I will keep improving this  in that way you can have a better experience browsing the Blog. I hope you like it! and make me the necessary criticisms to continue improving it 😉

For today's review I'll tell you more about one of the products that I liked the most amongst the sponsored Haul by Jolse. If you're sharp sighted, that's more or less the pattern I've been following, because at least it's easier for me to write and refer to a product that I liked a lot, instead of expanding on products that haven't gone well for me, or that I simply didn't like.

This Petitfèe azulene pads, are nylon pulp pads soaked with soothing essence, which helps to lower the temperature of our skin, while calming the redness and irritations that we could have.

It does work? We'll see that now.

The Petitfèe product packaging is quite simple, but striking and beautiful in a calm way. In the box, decorated with lavender tones, it comes the necessary product information (list of ingredients in english and korean, product description and features) but doesn't include the mode of use.

The jar inside the box, transparent and plastic, has a screw cap and is sealed with a biface plastic and aluminum film, both to prevent filtration or evaporation of the product.
This jar doesn't contain information in english, but the expiration date of the product is printed on its base. Most facial skincare products have a lifespan of 12 months after opening, so keep that fact in mind so that you can take advantage of them before they expire.

In the box there is also a small plastic clipper whose function is to help us to take without problems the pads from the jar, without staining or getting wet our fingers.

Recomendado.

When azulene products appeared, the first one I could try was Klairs' midnight blue calming cream. With very good results, I must say. It helped to calm a few pimples and irritations that I had due to hormonal causes, and when I have had problems with irritations or itching in some moments, it has continued helping.
For that reason, trying products with azulene is something that I have very present when making choices for my routine.

As I mentioned before, my favorite Youtuber - UNA - uses two products from azulene but from another brand, and this pads from Petitfèe are somewhat similar to those of the brand she uses, although with slight differences. But of course, that brand is a little harder to get and that's why I have not tested it yet. Some day I would do that, I hope.

Well, let's go to the details.

Presentation: this pads come in a transparent circular jar with a screw cap. Initially it was sealed with an aluminum protection, but to open it you must remove it. As the azulene present in this product it has natural origin, it degrades with light. That's why I recommend that you can keep this product away from direct light, and keep in mind that as you use it and lower the amount of liquid contained, the pads will be left with a slightly lavender tone. There are 70 pads, and also comes a plastic clipper to manage them more easily.

Scent: the herbal floral scent comes off easily when you open the jar and also when you apply the pads to the skin. It's not an fragrance that lasts a lot or that is annoying, it's just very soft and it fades away.

Texture: the pads are made of rayon pulp, which makes them resistant to handling with the hands, but also adaptable to the shape of the skin where you are going to use them. They are very thin and these combined points help to adhere well to skin. The liquid essence in which they are soaked is light, but somewhat viscous.

Ingredients: although the brand promotes these pads as containing azulene, this is not present in this list under that name, but as chamomile extract and also as Sodium guaiazulene sulfonate. It's different from the formulation of Dermatory gauze pads, because something in favor of this Petitfèe pads is they also include Niacinamide, an ingredient known for its properties to control redness, especially in case of rosacea. Also, the hyaluronic acid in Sodium Hyaluronate presentation is in 7th place of the list. Below, the madecassoside, Centella asiatica extract, aloe and ceramides contribute to hydration and moisture.

My experience: has been without a single doubt, satisfactory, both because they effectively help soothe the skin, as indicated by the brand, but also because they are a quick solution to fix the dryness of the skin in a gentle and lasting way.

As I mentioned, being made of rayon and not gauze, they can adapt very well to the shape of our face and you can even stretch it a bit. As they are thin, they don't stimulate the skin in that aggressive way and also adhere well to the skin. The essence contained in the jar is enough, and you will see that there is still more of it if you press the pads a little, so if you have some special pads or cottons for masking, you can use them without any problem. I have been using the ones I ordered, from the Skinfood brand.

I have used these pads more as masks than as a toner step, and in both cases it works very well. I have also used them in emergency cases where my skin suffered with some products or because of the environment pollution, and also did their job well, although in more drastic cases it wasn't instantaneous but from one day to the next.

The two most decisive moments where I saw the effectiveness of its soothing and moisturizing promises were the following, to place you in the context: after returning home after some hours of errands with sun and pollution, my skin was unusually dry. I applied this pads in different places of my face, I let them be for several minutes and then I massaged the remaining essence all over my face: the wayskin analyzer showed the tremendous advance after just that product.

Second opportunity: after giving a new opportunity to some x brand products that tested (I will name it later), my skin and especially my jaw and sideburns were very irritated, with redness and some pimples. I applied this pads as part of my routine. The skin felt calmer and without itching after having applied them, but the improvement in tone and texture was seen the next day. I will show you that in the swatches as I have everything documented.

So,finally, for me they turned out to be quite a discovery, as much for effectiveness as for how gentle they are. They calm my skin, moisturize it, refresh it and provide lasting moisture.

If you suffer from rosacea, check the ingredients as it's a product that could serve to control your redness a little, due to the niacinamide and other soothing ingredients such as betaine and centella/madecassoside extracts. Moreover, if we compare this pads to the Dermatory gauze pads, this Petitfèe ones bring 70 pads (versus 60 of their competitor) and 160 ml of product (versus 100 ml of its competitor), plus a lower price. The choice is yours 😏
